We are delighted to bring you this 10 week group trauma sensitive class led by Esme, who is a trained TCTSY-F (Trauma Centre Trauma Sensitive Yoga Facilitator)
About TCTSY
TCTSY is a specialized body-based practice to help treat complex PTSD. The first of its kind to officially be recognized by SAMHSA (Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration) as an evidence-based treatment for c-ptsd.
Complex trauma can be defined as trauma that has occurred within the context of relationships, ranging from abuse to neglect, often occurring from childhood, and is often chronic. Common symptoms can be dissociation, anxiety, depression, self-harm, and difficulties within relationships.
This body-based practice has its foundations in neurobiology, hatha yoga, attachment and trauma theory to create a safe framework with which participant and facilitator explore ‘having a body together’. This in turn, can help to cultivate feelings of safety, embodiment and empowerment within oneself, and ultimately better mental and physical health.
Please note that TCTSY can also help to improve symptoms of classic PTSD
Tenants that make up the practice of TCTSY include:
Choice making
Invitational language
Interoception (slowly exploring sensation within the body)
Non coercion (i.e., there is no expectation to follow what the facilitator is doing)
Shared authentic experience
The group is limited to 8 people only. You will be invited to fill out a consultation form and have a chat with Esme prior to starting the course.
We ask that, where possible, the course is paid for in full to encourage your commitment to the process and also provide consistency for all participants.
If you are unable to commit to this, please contact Esme to discuss what arrangements can be made for your needs.
Investment:
£150 for the 10-week series
A limited number of fully funded and supported places are available for those in financial need - please get in touch if you’d like to discuss this.
