Our Purpose
Our purpose is to provide holistic support to those in our community facing life’s challenges – be they physical, mental, emotional or spiritual.
Through funded programmes, low-cost trauma-sensitive services, and collaboration with local charities, we make the life-changing benefits of yoga and holistic therapies accessible to all. This empowers our service users to take control over their health and recovery.
Above all, we are committed to treating all those who come through our doors with non-judgmental compassion, creating a space for healing and growth and fostering a thriving, more resilient community.
AWe’re Hiring!
We have 3 part time roles opening up in the office here. Could you be the person for the job? Or perhaps you have the skills to combine 2 of these roles?
We’re looking for people to join our team who understand Yoga and the world of holistic therapies, are familiar with Hertford and the surrounding areas, and have a passion for our charitable activities.
The Roles:
Administrative Assistant
6 hrs / week to start, across 2 mornings – with additional holiday cover as required
The job:
• Performing studio opening and closing routines as necessary.
• Checking and responding to client emails, phone calls and walk-in queries.
• Taking client bookings and payments, handling cancellations and refunds.
• Assisting in updating the booking system and website to reflect class and workshop schedules and changes .
• Assisting with day-to-day office administration tasks.
• Assisting with day-to-day tasks to keep the centre looking welcoming.
• Assisting with H&S compliance tasks (eg: fire alarm testing, which is fun!)
The person:
• An interest in all things yoga and therapies.
• Friendly and personable FOH and phone skills.
• Good written English for email handling.
• Comfortable working in Word, Excel, and Gmail.
• Comfortable learning new IT programmes.
• Adaptable and willing to chip in whenever needed, and be flexible around working days on occasion.
Marketing and Social Media Executive
3-6 hrs / week – mostly office-based
The job:
• Keeping our charity activity and studio offerings high on the Hertford ‘things to do’ list.
Maintaining our Link’din and social media profiles.
• Scheduling and creating weekly social posts for Facebook, Insta, Nextdoor, and ad hoc social posts when appropriate.
• Making connections thro these platforms and monitoring / responding to comments and queries.
• Creating and scheduling weekly newsletters, and occasional ad-hoc newsletters for special events or ‘paid content’ clients.
• Maintaining subscriber lists in Constant Contact, and creating segmented marketing drives when appropriate.
• Creating fliers and posters within a specified design brief for commercial printing, in-house printing and digital shares.
• Sharing creative marketing and promotional ideas.
• Maintaining a close liaison with the Outreach and Sales Exec.
The person:
• An understanding of Yoga and the world of holistic therapies, and a passion for our charitable activities.
• Good knowledge of the Hertford area, and a drive to keep us visible locally and online.
• A good understanding of, and ability to navigate social media, and keep abreast of trends.
• Working knowledge of ‘Later’ and ‘Constant Contact’ (preferred).
• The ability to plan ahead, and be adaptive.
• Willingness to respond to requests and queries on socials in ‘real time’ (within reason).
• Good record keeping skills and close attention to detail.
Outreach, Sales, and Fundraising Executive
4-6 hrs / week – including some weekly office-based time
The job:
• Following up on leads generated by our ambassadors, the Trustees, and the core team.
• Maintaining and fostering relationships occurring as a result of the above.
• Making and maintaining connections with local businesses in person and by phone / email.
• Making and maintaining connections with local charities, and finding creative ways to work together.
• Maintaining a close liaison with the Marketing Exec.
• Seeking out and researching possible funders to help support the Secret Space.
• Reviewing possible funders to check eligibility, and handing over likely sources to the fundraising team to create applications.
• Creating and keeping records of possible funders, and of fundraising activity undertaken.
The person:
• An understanding of Yoga and the world of holistic therapies, and a passion for our charitable activities.
• A good knowledge of the Hertford area, and a drive to create and maintain local business and charity connections.
• An ability to pitch our charitable activities and corporate services with integrity and conviction.
• Good record keeping skills and close attention to detail.

We are always looking for enthusiastic volunteers who can either spare a few hours a week to come and be part of our reception and admin team, or professionals who would like to offer their skills on an ad-hoc basis for specific projects.
