Naturopathic Nutritional Therapy
I am a registered Naturopathic Nutritional Therapist with a special interest in digestive and hormonal health.
In my twenties and thirties, I suffered from IBS, headaches and eczema never realising they were all symptoms of the same dis-ease. After years of medicating symptoms and signing up for my first marathon at the age of 40, I changed my diet and began prioritising sleep. I noticed my energy levels were significantly higher despite all the running I was doing. My headaches were much less frequent, my IBS was significantly better, and the patches of eczema hadn’t reappeared for several months. I had experienced the healing effect of an improved diet and lifestyle and wanted to understand how and why, which led me to study Nutritional Medicine.
I understand how depressing it feels to have a 'food baby' after a meal and the need to remember to do my buttons or zip back up before I leave the table in a restaurant. I know how frustrating it is to start the day with a nice normal tummy and to finish it looking like I had been inflated. I know the misery of eczema breakouts that become infected, sore, and look unsightly. I also understand the power and relief of healing your body through food and lifestyle rather than medicating symptoms that only get worse.
Now I help people like you achieve the same results and the best part about Nutritional Medicine is that changes do not have to be big to start yielding results. A few small, gradual, and consistent changes are more beneficial to sustained healing than a sudden overhaul that proves impractical, unsustainable, demotivating and just makes symptoms worse. Healing requires time, patience, determination, and dedication, but the rewards are significant, life changing, empowering, and enduring.
I firmly believe in practising what I preach outside of my professional life. I find joy in staying active through yoga, triathlons, and marathons. Nature is my sanctuary, and I love open-water swimming, hiking, and walking. I am an avid kitchen gardener, an advocate of organic food and foraging, and a strong proponent of cold water therapy. These activities not only keep me physically fit but also fuel my passion for holistic health and wellness.
