Becky - Neuro-somatic and Advanced EMDR Psychotherapist, Yoga Therapist

I’m an integrative psychotherapist with over 30 years’ experience working with both minds and bodies.

I support people experiencing anxiety, depression, panic, stress or burnout, and have a particular interest in childhood and relational trauma, abuse, grief, and supporting those living with chronic illness or end-of-life diagnoses. I’m trained in Advanced EMDR, a recognised and evidence based therapy, that enables me to work safely and steadily with complex and single event trauma, always at a pace that feels manageable and collaborative.

As well as my personal experiences growing up, a background in nursing, health research and yoga therapy have shaped my connection with clients; as whole beings whose experiences live in the body and nervous system as much as in thoughts or words.

Relationship is central to how I work. I believe change happens in the presence of safety, trust and genuine human connection. My approach is warm, steady and grounded. Alongside deep listening, I offer practical tools informed by an understanding of nervous system regulation and neurological development, helping people make sense of their patterns and build resilience from the inside out.

I’m especially drawn to supporting carers, frontline professionals and those carrying significant responsibility for others; social workers, healthcare professionals, NGO staff, and family carers. Many people in these roles are vulnerable to burnout and vicarious trauma. I care deeply about creating spaces where they can pause, reflect, and reconnect with themselves.

I’ve delivered workshops for Hertfordshire County Council, working with carers, social workers, psychologists and mental health nurses, including teams in high-secure young adults-in-care settings and services supporting foster families. Again and again, the feedback has highlighted how valuable it is to have space for restoration alongside professional responsibility.

At the heart of my work is a positive belief in people’s capacity to heal and grow. Therapy, for me, is not about “fixing” but about supporting integration, self-understanding and a stronger sense of steadiness and choice.
