In today’s modern times we are being increasingly bombarded by what constitutes a healthy diet, with food increasingly being recognised as a complementary addition to the promotion of wellness. However, in recognising that we are all beautifully unique, it is impossible to adopt a ‘one size fits all’ approach. This, coupled with the fact that on a daily basis information about food is released about what we ‘should’ and ‘shouldn’t’ be eating and that this constantly changes, it can seem very confusing to feel that you are making choices that are right for you. This is where the work of a professional nutritionist can be of benefit.
Putting it simply, benefits can be seen in two areas:
- Improving general wellness and vitality that encourages the body to flourish.
- Targeted work on specific health complaints, whereby suggestions can be made to support the management of particular ailments and complaints.
When working with a nutritional plan, it is important to remember that the body needs to be understood as an interconnected framework. Therefore, in keeping with the philosophy of The Secret Space, the experience that you will be offered will be a holistic and integrative plan.
It needs to be understood that this plan will not be a ‘diet’, the connotations of which seem to automatically trigger thoughts of denial and deprivation. In coming to see us here you will receive support, resources, advice on any suggested supplements and a programme fully individualised for you that looks at general wellness and lifestyle, as well as how to maximise the nutritional benefits of the foods that you eat.
As well as individual programmes, at times throughout the year we will offer packages targeting specific issues.
What to Expect?
The first step will be an individual comprehensive assessment that will look at all areas of your health and lifestyle. This 75 minute session will include a comprehensive analysis of your body’s composition using the latest nutrition-based technology. Suggestions may also be made regarding any functional testing that may be deemed as necessary, eg blood tests or food intolerance testing.
Following this you will receive a full plan, including meal ideas, factsheets and recipe ideas.
On following this for an agreed period of time you will be invited in for a follow-up at which both progress and problems can be discussed, and the plan modified as necessary.
It is up to you how many sessions you feel you wish commit to, and you are whenever contact me between sessions with any specific questions.
