It is wonderful that you are considering starting yoga, but we understand that you might first have a few questions. Let’s see if we can help:

Does it matter if I’m really inflexible?

No. Yoga is completely inclusive. All ages, sizes, body types and abilities can practise and feel the benefits. We certainly don’t expect people to be flexible enough to touch their toes or sit in the Lotus position. Yoga will help to increase your flexibility in a safe and comfortable environment.  Look for the beginners classes on our timetable and come along.

Does it matter if I have a physical ailment?

No. Yoga often helps with physical problems, so don’t be put off if you have a bad back or other such physical ailment. Please just let your teacher know at the beginning of the class and they will make sure that you are working safely throughout. If you have a more serious condition or you are just unsure, please call in advance and we can advise you on a suitable class.

What are the benefits of yoga?

The benefits of your yoga practise can be quite profound and are likely to be carried through into your everyday life. Yoga can have a positive effect on your physical health, your mental health, your concentration levels, your posture, your sleep pattern and your mood. The more regularly you practise yoga the more you will reap the rewards.
